Our Forever Home: New House Tour

We had been looking on and off for a new home for quite some time. We just could not find anything with the right land for Matt and the right house for me. But magically, our new home appeared one early Saturday morning, around 2 AM, when I couldn’t sleep — this had also been after feeling the sting of disappointment the weekend prior when a house we wanted went under contract with someone else. In any case, we were able to get 15 minutes to walk through, and even before we stepped foot inside, we knew, this was the one.

Insane, right?

Well, when you see it, I think you will be able to tell that we weren’t that insane.

Outside Spaces

I’m not a huge fan of the beige, green, red, black, white mix - it’s color overload. But this is what we drove up to, which is also the reason why we turned to each other and immediately said, “This is the one.” With the housing market the way it is, it’s been extremely difficult to find something that had land, privacy, and a cute house. So to us, you can always make changes on the inside, but there is only so much you could do to the outside.

And it had a pool! I didn’t even know I wanted a pool until we saw it — even if we can really only use it three maybe four months out of the year.

Interior Spaces

We also lucked out that the inside of the house was beautiful as well. Are there things we want to change? Absolutely! I can’t sit still. But everything was completely fine as is, and there was nothing we really needed to do right away other from some paint (you’ll see - red room and mint chip ice cream as paint ahead).

Excuse the camping chairs as living room furniture and paint on the walls. We had already started to make a few changes by the time I remembered to take all of these pictures.

But we’re so excited, and I cannot wait to share all the future projects up ahead, including: the pink room becoming an office, the red room becoming a library, and all the other fun things we can think of in between now and forever.
